Fantasy Premier League. Gameweek 11

Dec 2, 2020 | Gameweek Preview

Burnley vs Everton

Score Prediction: 1-3
Burnley faced a massive blow the other week, with Nick Pope out with a head injury. Baily Peacock-Farrell, the young Northern Ireland goalie, stepped up against Man City, and it’s safe to say things didn’t work out as planned. Burnley in recent years have been known for their back line, but Everton’s front three will look to exploit the inexperienced keeper.

FPL Tips: James Rodrigues (£7.7m) proved in the first few weeks that he was Premier League material, but his form dropped since Richarlison got suspended. With Everton’s front three back, it’s only a matter of time before the Columbian starts wreaking havoc again.

Man City vs Fulham

Score Prediction: 4-0
The Manchester City we remember from the start of Pep’s reign seems to have disappeared, but it’s only a matter of time before they string some wins together. The glorious thrashing of Burnley was a great way to start and they now face a Fulham side who are fighting against relegation. They are much improved from their last spell in the league but without Mitrovic’s goals they are being overly reliant on Ademola Lookman. Expect goals from a City side against the Cottagers

FPL Tips: Rube Dias (£5.5m) is a really valuable option. His attacking potential isn’t there, but his 2.7% ownership is very good for this game. Clean sheets will come for them, and he seems to have avoided Pep’s rotation. Time will tell whether he thrives.

West Ham vs Man United

Score Prediction: 1-2
West Ham are much improved from last season. Despite selling youngster Grady Diengahna to West Brom, they have maneuvered a tough fixture list quite well. Against a Manchester United side overly reliant on Bruno Fernandes, this could be an entertaining fixture. Edinson Cavani has shone for the Red Devils, scoring two and assisting two after coming off the bench. Expect set pieces and VAR to play a massive role.

FPL Tips: Alex Telles (£5.5m) has played twice this season, but has the potential to be the best left back in the Premier League. He’s not afraid to shoot from distance as well, as he showed against West Brom. He could be the difference for United in this game.

Chelsea vs Leeds

Score Prediction: 4-2
This season, Chelsea have improved their back line, which cost them hugely last season, whilst making their frontmen the best in the league. On paper, this should be comfortable, but never count out Leeds. They battled Liverpool to the death and beat Everton last week, but lost to Wolves and Crystal Palace. Inconsistency has been with Leeds this season, so if they can sort that out, expect this to be the best game of the week.

FPL Tips: Ben Chilwell (£6.1m) has only blanked in one gameweek since returning from injury, registering a range of goals, assists and consistent clean sheets. This Chelsea side really suits him, and against Leeds he could have a massive return. He’s the new Trent, almost captain potential.

West Brom vs Crystal Palace

Score Prediction: 1-1
West Brom, back in the Premier League after a two season absence, have improved on the defence whilst showing their attacking potential. Two unlucky defeats against Spurs and United brought positives with Sam Johnstone on fire. Crystal Palace have a similar style of play too that of the big teams, but also know how to secure the defence. Wilfried Zaha could be back from isolation, and anything Palace do will go through him.

FPL Tips: Patrick Van Aanholt (£5.4m) has played the last few matches ahead of Mitchell. The cheaper option is appealing, but looking further than the eye test, PVA came back against Leeds and instantly assisted Helder Costa’s own goal. If Palace get back into some sort of form, he’s your go to man.

Sheffield United vs Leicester

Score Prediction: 0-3
Sheffield United have become the league’s slaughterhouse this season, on 1 point from 10 and seriously struggling without Dean Henderson in goal. Leicester have had a great season so far, with wins over Man City, Wolves and West Brom, but Fulham proved a challenge. For Leicester to be title contenders, the Vardy Party has to start up again at Sheffield.

FPL Tips: James Justin (£4.5m) is one of the most underrated full backs in the league. Leicester’s fixtures are looking better than most others, and he’s a differential. With Timothy Castagne and Ricardo Pereira out with injuries, this is his time to shine.

Spurs vs Arsenal

Score Prediction: 2-0
Spurs are a new team under Jose Mourinho. Clean Sheets against Chelsea, a 6-1 win over United and a 5-2 win over Southampton prove that. Son and Kane’s partnership has also grown, increasing their FPL appeal. Arsenal, on the other hand, just aren’t playing like they did during the business end of last season.  Aubameyang hasn’t scored from open play since the opening day, Pepe got sent off against Leeds and their defence has been shattered. They have to win this London Derby.

FPL Tips: Hector Bellerin (£5.5m) has looked really good on the eye test. He is an assist king, has pace to burn and is an all round player. He is Arsenal’s best chance through Spurs this weekend, although Reguilon is going to give him a hard time.

Liverpool vs Wolves

Score Prediction: 2-2
The reigning champions haven’t been at their best this season. Their injury list has piled up taller than a Jenga tower and even when they’ve been there, the quality hasn’t been the same. Wolves, having switched to a 4-2-3-1, look like they’re on another level. Their attack has been bolstered, and the Neto, Podence, Traore combination can only mean trouble.

FPL Tips: Pedro Neto (£5.5m) is the second highest scoring midfielder under £6m, and proved why with a goal and an assist against the Gunners. If he can produce the goods in place of Raul Jimenez, he could reach his full potential.

Brighton vs Southampton

Score Prediction: 1-2
Brighton, in my opinion, are a quality team. Potter has got them playing a system that suits them well, but they’re not being clinical enough. Maupay’s penalty last week is an example. They can dominate possession, but do nothing with it. Southampton are proving themselves this season. Alex McCarthy is the man with the golden gloves, having made the joint most saves this season. Expect Southampton to have more chances, and to win.

FPL Tips: Che Adams (£5.9m) has really stepped up since Danny Ings got injured. 50 points this season for his price is 9 points per million, and  you only see him getting better. He has to score this weekend.

This Week’s Klopp & Flopp Predictions

Predicted Klopp: Bruno Fernandes will score some pens this weekend. He’s getting really consistent.
Predicted Flopp: Diogo Jota is going to blank these next few weeks. I’m not going to join the bandwagon.
